This decomposition can either be exothermic or endothermic. While the former release heat while decomposition, they also provide a fast and complete decomposition.  DPL makes blowing agents of different grades including AC-P, AC-P4575, AC-E/P, PT and EV.  They all come in the form of a faint yellow powder and a pH value ranging from 6.5 – 8.5. Except for EV and PT, the loss on eating is around 0.15. For EV and PT, it is 0.16.

The values that vary among these agents are those of decomposition temperature, gas forming and the average diameter of the granula. In case of AC-P, the decomposition temperature is 200+/5 o C and gas forming of 235MG/-5 G. 

The average diameter of the granula is less than 6 to 8.  For AC-E/P, the decomposition temperature is 190+/5 o C and gas forming is same as that of AC-P. The average diameter of the granula is less than 6 to 8 again, In case of EV, the decomposition temperature is 136+/5 o C and gas forming of 165MG/-5 G. The average diameter of the granula is less than 12.
